Barbizon Hotel Art Deco Panel

Designed by noted architects Holabird and Root, The Barbizon Hotel was erected in 1929. The upper floors featured large Art Deco panels depicting the arts, and music on the exterior. Deep relief cast in aluminum, this panels motif is music. The abstract design includes two stringed instruments, and horn surrounded by swirling zig zags. Strong American Art Deco with a Futurist influence. The panel spent decades outdoors and retains a beautiful heavy patina. The maple frame is contemporary, stained a dark cherry red. Very impressive design and scale. apnel measures 50" H 36" W. Frame 57" H  43" W.
